This is currently possible using the Xata Branching Workflow with the Github integration.

Preview branches, autogenerated by Xata's Github Integration, are populated with a sample of data from the target branch. Note this applies to the autogenerated preview branch created by the Integration when creating a PR, not the development branch.
There is work planned to enable data copying for any branch in the future.
